Privacy Policy If You Are Under the Age of 13:

I’m glad you are interested in reading, writing and books! Thank you for visiting my author website for information and resources. Please know that I’m happy to answer your questions. This information would be collected directly by the operator. All data is held in confidence, with the intention that no information will be knowingly shared with any third party.

No information gathered will ever be disclosed to third parties; however, visitors should be advised that some sites linked to/ from may be commercial in nature and may utilize information-collection technology and procedures of their own.

We understand that the COPP act provides an exception for collection of a child’s email address without getting the parent’s consent in advance. These exceptions include contests, online newsletters, homework help, and electronic postcards. However, we require that anyone under 13 get parental or guardian permission, or have either their parent/guardian subscribe/write for them.

At any time, a parent may revoke his/her consent, refuse to allow the website operator to further use or collect their child’s personal information, and direct the website operator to delete the information. In turn, the operator may terminate any service provided to the child, but only if the information at issue is reasonably necessary for the child’s participation in that activity. For example, the operator may require children to provide their email addresses if they are going to receive a regular, online communication about the author’s books or events, or a special communication about creative writing, etc. If the parent/guardian requests that the email be deleted from the operator’s access, then the operator has no way to continue providing the notices or resources to the child.
